If you look up 178 in the Urban Dictionary, the top definition is, “To murder or slay.” Now, don’t worry, no violence is implied, as the top definition of Slay is, “Succeeded in something amazing.”
Well, that seems very apt for the news delivered to us by the Doctor. No, not that guy found in the Urban Dictionary; our CoC Performance Analyst, Dr. Lester Collins. He shared with us that as of 6/9, 178 folks have been housed through the 90 in 90 Emergency Shelter Challenge!
That’s right, in the week of 6/3-6/9 our partners, Austin Street Center, The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center and The Salvation Army DFW, slayed it, or pulled a 178, and housed another 19 people, which brings the total for the challenge to 178!
Congratulations to all of our partners, and especially to our formerly homeless friends! Because the most amazing thing, in our opinion, is ending homelessness.
