Face it, even if you aren’t in to cars, this car, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG (C197/R197), is a thing of beauty. Just look at it:
And, what you can’t see is that it had “the world’s most powerful naturally aspirated production series engine”, at the time of its introduction. So, it is a thing of beauty inside and out.
Now, there is one guy who tells us that there is something way more beautiful, inside, outside and in every possible way, and it just happens to be designated by the same number – 197. That guy is Dr. Lester Collins, our CoC Performance Analyst.
He shared with us that in our 90 in 90 Emergency Shelter Challenge, during the week of 6/10-6/16, Austin Street Center, The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center and The Salvation Army DFW were once again “out of control” (in a good way)! They housed another 19 people.
Now, not being that great at math, we grabbed a calculator, and adding those 19 to the number of those housed before, 178, we reached, that’s right – 197! We are in awe of our partners, who are breaking records every week. Congratulations to them, and even more importantly to our now formerly homeless friends.
